Privacy

The short version: StudyArena stores what it needs to run a leaderboard and keep your work attached to you, nothing else. No ads, no selling data, no third-party trackers.

Without an account

Battles, votes and saved chats are stored anonymously — prompts, answers and outcomes, with no name attached. Your IP address is used in memory for rate limiting and is not written to the database. If you answer the school and year questions without signing up, those answers live in your browser’s local storage, not on our servers; battles you run carry the school so per-school stats can be counted, still with no identity attached.

With an account

Signing in with Google or Discord gives us your name, email address and profile picture from that provider — we never see a password. We additionally store what you tell us on your account page: a photo if you upload one (stored on Cloudflare R2), and your study profile (country, school, year), which is used to pitch answers at your level and to build per-school statistics. Your chats, threads and votes are linked to your account so they follow you between devices.

Where it lives

Everything runs on Cloudflare (Workers, D1, R2). Your prompts and attachments are sent to the AI providers being compared — that is the product — under their API terms; they are identified to providers only by the request, never by your account.

Deleting your data

Delete your account any time from the account page. That permanently removes your user record, sign-in links, sessions, study profile and photo. Votes you cast stay in the public ratings and saved chats keep working at their links, but both are anonymised — nothing points back to you. Local-storage answers can be cleared from your browser settings.
